Dear Members,
We announce that the AGM will be held on Tuesday 30 November 2021 from 6:30 pm at Queenscliff Life Saving Club, North Steyne opposite Collingwood Street, Manly 2095.
Due to COVID restrictions and in order to cater, we ask that you indicate to us if you will be attending via this link by 23/11/2021.
If you have a group or couple membership, please add the names of additional members to your registration. If you have any questions on the meeting format or agenda or would like to send your apologies, please contact John Gorton, Club Secretary.
Please find attached a package of documents that you will need for the AGM, including a copy of the proposed, refreshed club Constitution.
One agenda item you will notice is the acceptance of the proposed changes to the Constitution. There is also a document that explains the main changes.
Your Board is recommending that the changes all be passed in one motion, as they are all designed to refresh and modernise the Constitution. There are no material or significant changes proposed but many parts of the existing Constitution are outdated, impractical or unworkable.
For the past 2 years, it has been on the agenda of the Board to take on this piece of work. I would like to thank the people involved in drafting the amendments, they include past Vice President, Morgan Lane and past Presidents Ian Mac Donald, David Begg and Anthony Bergelin. Despite the challenges of getting this many lawyers to agree on the words and intentions, we have come up with a document that we firmly believe will provide clarity, flexibility and relevance for the Club going forward.
Please read the explanatory notes and if you have any questions before the AGM please email me I will do what I can to address any questions before the meeting so that we don’t get too bogged down on the night.
Alternatively, there will be an opportunity to raise questions in the meeting.
See you all on the 30th.
Kind regards
Cameron Douglas
