Marlins head to Coogee in search of a win on the road!
The Marlins will have to overcome a desperate Randwick side in round 7 if they are to come away with their first away win of 2019. The Wicks started the season quite slowly but found some form at home in recent weeks notching up impressive victories against Easts and Norths before going down to Warringah at Rat Park last weekend.
The Marlins are fresh from the bye weekend but do still have a few injury concerns heading into this fixture. Kotoni Ale is unlikely to play but is ably replaced by impressive new recruit Luke Crocker. The Welshman brings a hard edge to the Manly pack with some excellent on ball work and certainly some sting in defence.
Marlins Head Coach Billy Melrose will be looking for some more improvement on the last hit out which did see the attack start to open up but the defence was a little leaky in that awesome game v Southern Districts a fortnight ago.
Also coming in for his run on debut is Stefano Hunt who joined Manly from QLD this season. Hunt has some experience in the Shute Shield at Sydney University and he also won a competition with Brothers a couple of season ago. Stefano has been selected at fly half for this all important clash.
It’s a big day for the Marlins, Randwick are travelling particularly well across the board and in the top spots next to University on the Club Championship ladder. A great test awaits indeed!
If you cant make it to Coogee Oval on Saturday then make sure you head to Manly Oval for the mouth watering Colts clash between two undefeated sides in Manly and Randwick. The Galloping Greens did not lose a single match in 2018 but our boys did give them an almighty fright in the semis last year. Here’s hoping our young stars can get one up on the premiers this Saturday!
