MRFC Announces New Head Coach!

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT!

Manly Rugby Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Matt McGoldrick as its Head Coach for the 2020 season.
In confirming the announcement, Club President Anthony Bergelin indicated:
“Matt has had an association with the Marlins that has spanned over 20 years and his experience in Rugby together with an in depth understanding of the Manly club won the day.
We are excited by Matt’s plans to take the club forward in what should be the start of an exciting era for the club with a number of talented players graduating from Manly Colts.”
McGoldrick’s time in the club has been broad-ranging and has included time as a player, as a board director, numerous assistant & specialist coaching positons and as General Manager which provides him with a unique insight into the club’s administration.
Matt has won premierships in both Colts and in Grade at Manly and he received the illustrious Chad Payton Trophy in 2001 as the clubs best player.
In indicating his desire to get started, McGoldrick confirmed:
“It’s an exciting time for the club and I’m extremely grateful to have been given this opportunity. I love the club and the people that make it up. We are in a great position to move into the future with great structures and people in place. We will be working hard to make our community proud of us as footballers and as people.”
Preparations for 2020 get underway with preseason commencing first week of November.
